Eastern Bluebird by Allen Aardsma
This beautiful Eastern Bluebird carving was created by local artist, Allen Aardsma, with a single piece of basswood. It was made entirely by hand using a Buck 307 jackknife, a Warren knife and acrylic paint. Its legs and feet are made of various gauges of wire which were then painted to replicate those of an Eastern Bluebird.
A coat of spray fixative was applied to seal the surface of the carving in order to keep dust and moisture out.
